Regulatory Update
Alabama eliminated prelicensing education on January 1, 2024
Under Act 2023-104, Alabama repealed its mandatory prelicensing education requirement effective January 1, 2024. You can now sit for the Alabama licensing exam without completing any set number of study hours. Most candidates still use a structured course — the exam still tests detailed state law and insurance concepts, and first-attempt preparation saves the cost of retake fees and escalating waiting periods.
