Regulatory Update
North Carolina eliminated prelicensing education (HB 737, eff. October 1, 2025)
North Carolina House Bill 737 repealed the state's mandatory 20-hour prelicensing education requirement. Candidates can now sit for the Pearson VUE exam without completing a state-approved course, though structured prep is still strongly recommended given the heavy state-law content. North Carolina remains an application-before-exam state.
